Pregnant Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright Forced to Hide as Their Mansion is Targeted by Masked Raiders
Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright faced a terrifying ordeal when their Essex mansion became the target of a break-in.
The couple, who are expecting their first child, were forced to lock themselves in their bedroom as masked intruders attempted to raid their home.
The distressing incident took place on Tuesday evening when the couple reportedly heard the sound of their porch window shattering, followed by their home security alarm going off.
According to sources, four masked individuals gained entry to the couple’s lavish property,
but their attempt to ransack the home was cut short when Mark shouted, scaring them off. The burglars fled in a getaway car before police arrived.
Authorities were promptly alerted through the couple’s security system. Fortunately, despite the terrifying nature of the intrusion, nothing was stolen from their £3.5 million mansion. However, the couple is said to be deeply shaken by the experience.
Essex Police issued a statement confirming the investigation remains ongoing. A spokesperson explained, “Four suspects forced entry into an address and conducted a search before fleeing the scene. Officers arrived within eight minutes and are continuing to provide support to the victims. High-visibility patrols have been implemented in the area as we explore several lines of inquiry, including forensic investigations, CCTV analysis, and witness statements.” Authorities have urged anyone with relevant information to come forward.
A source close to the couple spoke about the frightening event, stating, “It was a traumatic experience for them, but they are relieved no one was harmed. Mark acted swiftly to ensure Michelle’s safety, and they remained in their room until the police arrived.” The couple’s security measures, including their alarm system, played a crucial role in alerting law enforcement in time.
Michelle and Mark have frequently shared glimpses of their home renovation journey with fans through their dedicated Instagram account, which boasts nearly 700,000 followers. The pair have documented various transformations, including their grand spiral staircase, redesigned driveway, and outdoor enhancements such as their swimming pool.
The break-in comes just months after Michelle shared the joyful news of her pregnancy in December 2024. The actress, best known for her roles in Brassic and Coronation Street, announced the news via Instagram with a heartwarming photo. In the picture, she is seen cradling her baby bump on a beach while Mark stands across from her. She captioned the post, “2025 is going to be a special one for us…” The couple received an outpouring of congratulatory messages from fellow celebrities, including Corrie star Helen Flanagan and TOWIE’s Sam Faiers.
Michelle and Mark, who tied the knot in 2015, have kept much of their private life under wraps despite the public’s fascination with their relationship. In a recent interview, Michelle spoke candidly about the pressures of public scrutiny regarding their family plans. “When we first got married, I was open about wanting children, but as time passed, speculation grew. That’s when I decided to keep that part of my life private,” she shared in an interview with Grazia.
The couple’s love story dates back to 2012 when they first met in Dubai while on separate holidays. At the time, Mark had gained fame on The Only Way Is Essex, while Michelle was portraying Tina McIntyre on Coronation Street. Their paths had crossed before at various events, including The X Factor, but it wasn’t until their chance encounter in Dubai that romance blossomed. Mark later admitted that he had pursued Michelle for a while before she agreed to a date.
After making their first public appearance as a couple at the British Soap Awards in 2013, their relationship quickly progressed. Just months later, Mark proposed during a romantic getaway to Dubai, the place where their love story had truly begun. Reflecting on their relationship, Mark once shared, “For the first time in my life, I have everything I’ve ever wanted – love, friendship, and a girl I truly adore.”
While the couple continues to celebrate their growing family, they are now also focused on increasing security around their home following the attempted burglary. The recent event has undoubtedly shaken them, but their quick actions ensured their safety during the ordeal.
As the police investigation continues, Michelle and Mark remain grateful that they were unharmed and are hopeful that authorities will bring those responsible to justice. Meanwhile, they continue to prepare for their new chapter as parents while maintaining a sense of privacy around their personal lives.
