Adil Ray, a well-known presenter on Good Morning Britain, has revealed his enthusiasm for an exciting new project outside of his ITV commitments.
The 50-year-old broadcaster, who frequently steps in for regular hosts Richard Madeley and Ed Balls,
is set to take on a new challenge that will showcase his talents in a different setting.
Despite his ongoing work on ITV’s game show Lingo, Adil is preparing to embark on a new venture in radio.
It was recently announced that he will be joining Smooth Radio as the host of a brand-new Saturday mid-morning show.
The program is scheduled to premiere on March 1 and will air every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A Familiar Voice Returns to Smooth Radio
Adil is no stranger to the radio station, having previously served as a guest presenter over the Christmas and New Year period. His temporary stint on the airwaves clearly made an impression, as he has now secured a permanent slot.
Expressing his excitement about the new opportunity, Adil shared his feelings about joining Smooth Radio full-time: “Joining the Smooth family really feels like I am coming home. It’s no surprise that millions up and down the country are coming together to make Smooth their home too. I cannot wait to spend Saturday mornings with you, the best time of the week! Whether you’re at work, doing housework, homework, or on the road, please join me for quite simply the best music in the world!”
During his time as a guest presenter, Adil openly expressed his deep appreciation for radio broadcasting, describing it as “the best job in the world.” Now, with his own regular show, he is set to bring his warm and engaging personality to a broader audience each weekend.
A Star-Studded Lineup at Smooth Radio
Adil will be joining an impressive roster of presenters at Smooth Radio, including Good Morning Britain co-star Kate Garraway. Kate has been a fixture at the station since 2014 and continues to host her weekday show from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Her longstanding presence on the station has made her a beloved voice among listeners.

Meanwhile, Darren Parks has been named as the new host of The Smooth Sanctuary, adding yet another dynamic voice to the lineup.
