One of the newest and most innovative competitions is the E1 Series, featuring nine teams aiming to promote sustainable electric watercraft. These boats are powered exclusively by batteries and electric motors, reaching speeds of up to 50 knots (25.8 mph). Built with a carbon fiber chassis, each boat weighs 800 kg (1763.7 lbs) and is operated by a single driver. Among the team owners are NFL GOAT Tom Brady, Formula 1 driver Sergio Perez, tennis star Rafael Nadal, former soccer player Didier Drogba, singer Marc Anthony, DJ Steve Aoki, and actor Will Smith.
Will Smith vs. Tom Brady
The next race is set to take place tomorrow on Lake Como in Italy. Although the team owners aren’t always present due to their busy schedules, Rafael Nadal and Will Smith are expected to attend this time. Smith’s team, “Westbrook Racing,” is currently in third place-a position that doesn’t sit well with the actor. Smith announced his plans to attend the event in his Instagram stories, where he also sent a message to Brady: “I’m gonna put an end to that foolishness.” Smith was referring to the fact that Brady’s team has won three of the four races so far.
Brady Fires Back
In response to Smith’s message, Brady took to Instagram, replying, “I’m the one working now.” Smith had previously remarked on the video to Brady, “That’s because I’ve been at work, I’ve been working on Bad Boys, but I’m here, I’m here.” Referring to his busy schedule of touring and events related to his recent box office success. Brady’s response alludes to his upcoming role as a football analyst for FOX this season, as he has already begun attending preseason games with his future broadcast team, although he has yet to make his on-air debut.
E1 Standings
While team owners don’t directly compete, their presence at the races can serve as a significant motivator for their drivers. It remains to be seen whether this will be the case for Will Smith or Rafael Nadal in tomorrow’s race, but for now, Nadal’s team has the advantage, having clocked the second-fastest time in the qualification results, just behind Team Brady and ahead of “Team Miami” and Will Smith’s team that finish in fourth place.
With the fifth race on the horizon, Tom Brady’s team continues to dominate, setting the fastest times in the qualification results. Much like in the NFL, Brady’s team leads the standings with three victories on the beaches of Jeddah, Venice, and Monaco. Following closely in second place is Jennifer Lopez ex-husband Marc Anthony’s “Team Miami,” which secured a win in Puerto Banús, Spain. In third place is Will Smith’s “Westbrook Racing,” with Team Drogba and Team Rafa rounding out the top five positions
