Sharon Osbourne has revealed a major career decision she made on behalf of her husband, Ozzy Osbourne,

that she now deeply regrets. In a recent appearance on Billy Corgan’s podcast, “The Magnificent Others,”
the 72-year-old music manager admitted to turning down an audition opportunity for Ozzy in Disney’s blockbuster franchise, “Pirates of the Caribbean.”
During the conversation, Sharon reflected on what she considers her “biggest mistake” as Ozzy’s manager.

“He got offered to go and read for ‘Pirates of the Caribbean,’” she shared. “I’ve never said this to anyone, and I said no. Now, wouldn’t he have been perfect?”

Her statement prompted an enthusiastic response from Corgan, who agreed that Ozzy would have been an ideal fit for the swashbuckling film series.

Sharon then referenced how Johnny Depp, who famously portrayed Captain Jack Sparrow, campaigned for Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards to appear in the films. Richards ultimately played Captain Teague, Sparrow’s father, in “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.”
While Ozzy ultimately missed out on joining the star-studded franchise, he has had his fair share of Hollywood appearances. The legendary rocker has been featured in films like “Austin Powers in Goldmember” and “Little Nicky,” among others. Despite these opportunities, Sharon’s revelation suggests that the “Pirates of the Caribbean” role could have been a defining moment for Ozzy’s acting career.
Sharon’s candid admission comes at a time when Ozzy is facing ongoing health challenges. The 76-year-old rocker has been open about his struggles, particularly his battle with Parkinson’s disease, which he was diagnosed with in 2003.

On the January 29 episode of his SiriusXM show, “Ozzy Speaks,” the former Black Sabbath frontman spoke about the difficulties he faces due to his condition. “I go on about the way I can’t walk, and I can’t do this… but you know what I was thinking over the holidays? For all my complaining, I’m still alive,” he shared.
Reflecting on his journey, Ozzy acknowledged the hardships but also expressed gratitude. “I may be moaning about how I can’t walk, but I look down the road and there’s people that didn’t do half as much as me, and they didn’t make it,” he said.
Despite his health struggles, Ozzy remains committed to music and is preparing for one final performance with Black Sabbath’s original lineup. The special concert is set to take place in July in Birmingham, England, where the legendary metal band was formed.
“It’s my time to go back to the beginning, time for me to give back to the place where I was born,” Ozzy stated. “How blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love? Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham forever.”

In 2023, Ozzy announced his retirement from touring, citing his physical limitations as the primary reason. “I am honestly humbled by the way you’ve all patiently held on to your tickets for all this time, but in all good conscience, I have now come to the realization that I’m not physically capable of doing my upcoming European/UK tour dates,” he wrote in a statement at the time.
His retirement from extensive touring, however, does not mean he is stepping away from music entirely. Ozzy continues to engage with fans and remains involved in various projects. His final Black Sabbath performance will serve as a fitting tribute to his iconic career and his deep connection to his hometown.
As for Sharon, while she may regret turning down Ozzy’s shot at “Pirates of the Caribbean,” the couple has had an extraordinary journey together, both in music and in life. Their enduring bond and resilience continue to inspire fans worldwide. Whether on stage or on screen, Ozzy Osbourne’s legacy is firmly cemented as one of rock’s greatest figures.
