The seemingly savage nickname Prince Philip reportedly had for Meghan Markle has now been exposed.
A bombshell book about the life of Prince Philip, who died in 2021, aged 99, has raised an allegation that the royal had a cruel nickname for the Duchess of Sussex.
After hearing the alleged nickname Prince Philip had for Meghan Markle, one person remarked: “Lol! The drama!” Another added: “For him, that’s tame,” while a third commented: “One of the least offensive insults Prince Philip has ever given.”
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are among the most controversial members of the British royal family. In 2020, they stepped down as senior royals, breaking longstanding traditions. Now living in California with their two children, Archie and Lilibet, the couple continues to make headlines.
Royal biographer Ingrid Seward’s book, My Mother and I, revealed shocking claims about Queen Elizabeth II and the late Duke of Edinburgh. One revelation alleged that the Queen felt Markle’s wedding dress was “too white” for a divorcée, calling it “flamboyantly virginal.”
The biggest revelation, however, was Prince Philip’s alleged nickname for Meghan. He reportedly referred to her as “D.o.W.” — comparing her to Wallis Simpson, the American divorcée who married Edward VIII and led him to abdicate.
Seward explained that Philip found Markle “uncannily” similar to Simpson, describing both as “pencil-slim, dark-haired, and glamorous American divorcées.”
The comparison is particularly brutal, given Simpson’s legacy as one of the most hated figures in royal history, following Edward’s abdication and their subsequent exile.
