Megan McKenna, the former TOWIE star, recently opened up about a harrowing experience she faced with her newborn son, Landon,
who was rushed to the hospital after becoming severely ill.
The 31-year-old mother, who welcomed Landon with her 27-year-old footballer fiancé Oliver Burke last October, took to Instagram Stories to share the distressing details of the ordeal.
The reality TV star had been keeping her followers updated on her journey through motherhood, and this latest post was one of her most vulnerable moments yet.

Megan revealed that she was forced to take Landon to the hospital after he began vomiting excessively, which left him in a state of dehydration.

The situation became even more alarming as Landon grew increasingly distressed, and his condition worsened to the point where he was unable to stop crying.

In a heartfelt post, Megan shared her experience with her followers, emphasizing the importance of trusting a mother’s instincts when it comes to their child’s health. “One thing I’m learning about being a mum, always trust your gut,” Megan wrote. She described the gut-wrenching moment when she realized something was seriously wrong and decided to take immediate action, taking Landon to A&E to get him the medical attention he desperately needed.
Landon’s condition had worsened after Megan was advised by his paediatrician to stop giving him omeprazole, a medication he had been prescribed to manage his reflux. Megan had initially fought hard to get Landon on the medication due to his struggles with severe reflux from the age of six weeks. After being on the medication for four months, Landon’s condition had improved significantly. However, after the paediatrician recommended stopping the omeprazole, Megan felt uneasy but followed the advice, which ultimately led to a distressing night in the hospital.
“I begged to get more [medication] but was told he needs to stop now,” Megan shared. “Because I was told to stop when I really didn’t want to, I’m now sitting on a baby ward after being in A&E all last night because Landon has gotten gradually worse. He was throwing up so much it was scary. He was screaming in pain, reaching until his face turned red and was becoming dehydrated from all the vomiting.”

The situation escalated quickly, and Megan described her son’s pain as unbearable. Thankfully, the hospital staff acted swiftly, and Landon was put on a drip to rehydrate him and help him recover from the effects of the vomiting. Megan explained that after assessing his condition, the paediatrician at the hospital was “very confused” as to why the medication was stopped, stating that Landon should have been on it for at least six months.
The next steps were quickly put in motion. After a night in the hospital, Landon was put back on omeprazole, and Megan was relieved to share that her son was already feeling better. “After last night, he is being put back on it and has just had his first dose. He was kept in overnight to be monitored and to have fluids put back into his body,” Megan wrote. “Thankfully, Landon’s back to his happy self again. He even woke up with a smile. But we’re now back on the omeprazole journey.”
Megan closed her post by expressing her gratitude for the medical professionals who helped her son during the ordeal. “I really appreciate everything you’ve done for me and Landon,” she said, sending a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and nurses who cared for her child during a frightening and challenging time.

The new mum’s open and honest post resonated with many parents who could relate to the stresses and uncertainties of caring for a sick child. Megan’s willingness to share such a personal experience serves as a reminder to all parents that trusting their instincts, even when faced with medical advice that doesn’t feel right, can be crucial when it comes to their child’s well-being.
As Megan and Oliver continue to navigate parenthood, this latest health scare has brought even more attention to the importance of listening to one’s gut feelings as a mother. Through her social media posts, Megan continues to offer a glimpse into the realities of being a first-time mum, showing the highs and lows of raising a child while also juggling a busy career and personal life. Despite the challenges, Megan’s message of gratitude and strength shines through, as she remains grateful for the support she received from both her family and the medical professionals who helped her son get back to health.
