Katie Price has opened up about the challenges her son Harvey faces due to his weight, revealing that he is now unable to fit into her car.

The 22-year-old, who lives with Prader-Willi syndrome—a rare genetic disorder that causes constant hunger—currently weighs 28 stone.
As a result, he has been approved for a mobility vehicle, but Katie has encountered further setbacks due to her own driving history.
Harvey’s Health and Weight Struggles

Harvey Price has been dealing with various health challenges since birth.

In addition to Prader-Willi syndrome, he is also partially blind and has autism, making daily life a constant battle for both him and his mother.

His condition makes it incredibly difficult to manage his appetite, leading to significant weight gain over the years.
Katie, 46, recently revealed that Harvey will begin taking weight loss injections similar to Ozempic in an effort to save his life. These medications, often prescribed to manage diabetes and obesity, help to suppress appetite and aid in weight reduction. Given Harvey’s medical conditions, this treatment is seen as a crucial step in improving his overall health and quality of life.
Speaking about the decision, Katie told The Sun:
“Harvey is now at the stage where something needs to be done to help him. It’s not just about appearance—it’s about his health and his future.”

Mobility Car Approval but Insurance Issues
During a recent episode of The Katie Price Show, which she co-hosts with her sister Sophie, Katie shared that Harvey has now been approved for a mobility vehicle due to his size.
“He’s moving nearer home, so I’ll be seeing him nearly every day,” she explained. “He’s entitled to a mobility car because he doesn’t fit into small cars anymore.”
While the approval for the vehicle is a positive step, Katie has hit a major roadblock—she is unable to get insured to drive it. Due to her history of driving offenses, insurance companies have refused to cover her as Harvey’s designated driver.

“Now the problem is they won’t insure me as his carer because of my license,” she admitted. “So that’s another bridge I’ve got to overcome. I’m his mum and the one who will be driving him around.”
This issue has added further stress for Katie, who wants to be able to transport her son safely and conveniently.
Katie’s Troubled Driving History
One of the key reasons for Katie’s insurance struggle is her extensive history of driving offenses. The former glamour model has been banned from driving six times over the years, with her most recent disqualification only recently coming to an end.

Last month, she revealed that she was finally back behind the wheel but was facing astronomical insurance quotes due to her track record.
“The insurance quotes I’ve been given are just ridiculous—some are in the six-figure range per year!” she shared.
Katie’s driving bans have stemmed from multiple offenses, including drink-driving, speeding, and failing to comply with road laws. Her most high-profile case occurred in 2021 when she was involved in a car crash while disqualified and under the influence.

Despite this, she has remained determined to regain control of her driving privileges, insisting that she has learned from past mistakes.
Harvey’s Fame and Public Recognition
Aside from his health and mobility struggles, Harvey has also had to deal with the challenges that come with fame. As the son of a well-known public figure, he is constantly recognized when out in public, which can sometimes be overwhelming for him.
Katie has previously spoken about how her son handles the attention, saying:
“Harvey can’t go anywhere without being recognized. People love him, but it can be difficult for him to understand why so many people know who he is.”

Despite these difficulties, Harvey remains a beloved figure, particularly after his widely praised BBC documentary Harvey & Me, which gave an intimate look into his life and the challenges he and Katie face together.
Moving Forward: Katie’s Next Steps
As Katie continues to navigate the challenges of raising Harvey, her priority remains his well-being. She is working on finding a solution for the insurance issue, as she is determined to be the one to drive him.
Additionally, she remains hopeful that the weight loss injections will help Harvey achieve a healthier lifestyle, reducing the risks associated with his condition.

“It’s not an easy journey, but I’ll do whatever it takes to make sure Harvey has the best possible life,” she stated.
For now, Katie is focused on ensuring Harvey gets the care he needs while also fighting to overcome the latest obstacles in their journey.
