Television presenter Eamonn Holmes, 65, has stirred up conversation after sharing his controversial opinions on dating and honesty while live on GB News.
During a discussion with a dating coach about relationship dos and don’ts, Holmes suggested that lying
particularly white lies and embellishments—can be a key component of successful dating and relationships.

“‘Does my bum look big in this?’ No, of course it doesn’t.’ So does that make me a bad person then?”
According to Holmes, such lies are harmless and even beneficial for maintaining peace and confidence in a relationship.

“Let’s face it, we’re all quite boring. We are all quite boring. You ask a person to tell you about their life, and they expect you to give some sort of revelation that you do things people don’t usually do, and it’s just not the case,” Holmes argued.
He continued by admitting to his own habit of embellishment:
“I embellish, I’m an embellisher. If you’re looking to find the most attractive person on that dating app, you’re not going to say, ‘I sat on the couch, watched TV, and ate pizza,’ are you?”
