Michigan Vocalist Picked to Play Dolly Parton in Groundbreaking Concert Experience
Ally Jackson, a talented 29-year-old vocalist hailing from Davison, Michigan, is set to take the stage in the highly anticipated world premiere of Dolly Parton’s innovative symphonic concert titled “Threads: My Songs in Symphony.” This groundbreaking event will be held on March 20, 2025, at the renowned Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Jackson is one of only seven selected vocalists for this unique multimedia experience that pays homage to Parton’s iconic songs and the stories that have inspired them.
A Dream Realized for Ally Jackson
For Ally Jackson, performing for the legendary Dolly Parton is nothing short of a dream come true. Having moved to Tennessee to pursue her musical ambitions after graduating from Davison High School in 2014, she has always aspired to share the stage with her idol. “The most surreal moment was getting to perform for Dolly and sing her songs in front of her. It was such an honor,” she reflected on the experience. Following the concert, Parton invited all the performers to her dressing room for a meet-and-greet, where Jackson felt a special bond when Parton affectionately referred to her as “little Dolly.”
Musical Roots and Influences

Ally’s musical journey is deeply rooted in her family background. Growing up, her mother played the violin for the Flint Symphony Orchestra, while her father also exhibited musical talent. Although Jackson didn’t perform at the Flint Symphony during her childhood, attending their concerts profoundly influenced her passion for music. Her confidence soared as she spent five years performing with the classic rock band 3rd Degree Burns, a pivotal experience in her development as a singer and performer.
Education and Rising Career

After developing her performance skills, Jackson pursued further studies in music at Belmont University in Nashville. This move marked the beginning of her flourishing career in the vibrant music scene. She has showcased her talent at several prestigious events, including her stirring performances as a soloist during the Flint Symphony Orchestra’s Holiday Pops concerts. Each opportunity allowed her to refine her artistry and gain recognition within the community.
Though singing in “Threads: My Songs in Symphony” represents a milestone achievement, Jackson envisions a broader goal for her musical journey. She aspires to become a Christian artist, passionately performing at local churches and integrating her faith with her love for music. Reflecting on her experiences, she expresses a sense of gratitude: “I’m just grateful to have been part of the world premiere. It’s an experience I’ll never forget.” As she looks toward the future with excitement, Jackson is eager to see where her path will lead next.
