Legendary Queen guitarist Brian May has shared the full extent of the health crisis he endured last year,

revealing that recovering from his mini stroke required immense determination.
The 77-year-old musician had initially disclosed his medical emergency in a social media video in September, where he referred to the incident as a “health hiccup.”
However, he has now admitted that the experience was far more alarming than he initially let on.

A Terrifying Experience

In his latest revelations, May explained that his stroke temporarily robbed him of control over his arm.

“I couldn’t get a fork from the table to my mouth without it all going all over the place,” he recalled. The incident, which he first downplayed as minor, turned out to be a deeply unsettling ordeal.
Despite the scare, the Bohemian Rhapsody guitarist was fortunate to experience a relatively swift recovery. He credited his ability to regain function to sheer perseverance and determination. “After only a few days, it’s amazing what you can get back,” he shared in an interview with Premier Guitar magazine. “By sheer willpower, you just start retraining your muscle.”
Nearly Fully Recovered

May assured fans that his health is now in a good state and estimated that he has regained around 95% of his abilities. “And that’s enough,” he remarked, expressing gratitude for how far he has come since the stroke.
His wife, actress Anita Dobson, also provided an update on his condition in January. The 75-year-old, known for her roles in EastEnders and Doctor Who, described his health as “stable” and emphasized that he is taking life one day at a time. In an interview with The Sun, Dobson reflected on how the experience reinforced the fragility of life. “It makes you realise that at any minute it could be you. You don’t have to necessarily be old; it could be anyone,” she noted.
A Newfound Appreciation for Life

Dobson also revealed that May has found great joy in their move from London to the countryside, a change that has positively impacted his well-being. “To see what it has done to Brian… he loves it. He loves the birds and the animals,” she shared.
The move has given May the opportunity to immerse himself in nature, a passion he has long held dear. “He feeds the birds and the badgers, foxes, and pheasants. It’s like running a pub for animals,” Dobson added humorously.
A Testament to Resilience

May’s recovery journey serves as a testament to his resilience and commitment to overcoming adversity. His openness about the challenges he faced provides insight into the realities of recovering from a stroke, no matter how minor it may initially seem. With a nearly full recovery and a newfound appreciation for life in the countryside, the rock icon continues to embrace each day with gratitude and determination.
