Bonnie Tyler brought her signature charm and wit to Good Morning Britain on Wednesday, leaving host Richard Madeley momentarily flustered during a playful exchange.

The legendary singer, 73, appeared on the show to promote her latest single, Yes I Can,
but it was her cheeky flirtation with Richard that stole the spotlight.
Bonnie’s Playful Exchange with Richard

During their conversation, Richard, 68, asked Bonnie about the secret to her long and happy marriage with her husband, former Olympic judo competitor Robert Sullivan, 80.

The couple, who have been married for an impressive 51 years, have traveled the world together, a factor Bonnie credited as key to their lasting bond.

As Richard reflected on her response, he noted, “So, more time together, not less time together?” Bonnie agreed before cheekily adding, “And he’s not bad to look at—like you!”
The unexpected compliment caught Richard off guard, leaving him blushing and scrambling to change the subject. Looking flustered, he quickly exclaimed, “Let’s not go there! No, no, move on!” Meanwhile, his co-host Susanna Reid couldn’t help but laugh at the moment, pointing out, “He’s blushing!”
Susanna then playfully asked Bonnie if her husband would mind her comment about Richard’s looks. Bonnie reassured everyone with a laugh, saying, “No! He’s not the jealous type.” Richard, still recovering, quipped, “Thank God, because if he’s a black belt, I’m in trouble!”

A Love Story That Began in Swansea
Bonnie and Robert’s love story dates back to her early days as a club singer in Swansea, where Robert worked as a club manager. Their connection was instant, and they married in 1973, long before Bonnie became a global music sensation.
In a recent interview with The Times, Bonnie reflected on their strong relationship, saying, “I think the secret to our success is that we met before I was famous.”

She also shared a deeply personal chapter of their lives, revealing that they had planned to have children but missed the opportunity. When she was 40, she suffered a miscarriage, which she later described as a painful experience but one she did not dwell on for too long.
“For the first time, I felt maternal and we stopped all precautions, and it happened straight away. But then I lost the baby, and it didn’t happen after that,” she said. Despite the loss, she expressed gratitude for having had the chance to experience pregnancy, adding, “Robert and I were so sad when it happened, but I’m not the type to dwell on things. The following weekend I was in Paris for a TV show, then I just moved on.”
While they never had children of their own, Bonnie cherishes her role as an aunt, noting that their home in Mumbles, Wales, is always filled with family members who affectionately call her “Auntie Gaynor.”

Bonnie Tyler: A Rock Icon Still Going Strong
Born Gaynor Sullivan in Neath, South Wales, in 1951, Bonnie Tyler rose to fame with her iconic husky voice and powerful ballads. She was discovered at just 17 while singing in a Swansea club, eventually signing with RCA Records—the same label as Elvis Presley.
Her breakout hit Total Eclipse of the Heart catapulted her to international stardom in 1983, followed by other classics like Holding Out for a Hero and It’s a Heartache. Over the years, she continued to release music and perform on global stages, even representing the UK at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest with her song Believe in Me.

Now at 73, Bonnie shows no signs of slowing down. She remains active in the music industry and is set to embark on a European tour in support of her third live album, In Berlin, which will be released on April 19. The tour kicks off in Finland on April 9, proving that her passion for performing is as strong as ever.
A Memorable TV Moment
Bonnie’s Good Morning Britain appearance wasn’t just about promoting her new single—it also provided a hilarious and lighthearted TV moment that viewers won’t soon forget. Richard Madeley’s reaction to Bonnie’s flirtatious remark had fans amused, and Susanna Reid’s playful teasing only added to the fun.

As Bonnie continues her journey in music and celebrates more than five decades of marriage, her enduring charm, humor, and talent remain as captivating as ever. And if there’s one thing Richard learned from their interview, it’s that Bonnie Tyler is not just a rock icon—she’s also got a cheeky sense of humor that can leave even the most seasoned TV hosts blushing!
